Here Comes The Rain ….Anyone own an ark?
20 Greater Toronto members, who had gained
their spot through PAR Points, headed over to the Detroit
Chapter for Border Cup. Many of the golfers played a round on
the Friday, reporting that the course was dry and the ball
rolled and rolled, a bit foreign for Ontario golfers in this
2009 season. Post round some dinner, socializing and our team
sharing strategy.
A number of Toronto players had updated the clubhouse on course conditions, personally I believe obtaining an ark would also have been appropriate—we were already two by two and the rain kept pelting down.
Border Cup 2009 was called off due to risk of drowning, hypothermia, and the focus turned to drying out. Members shared dry clothes and through it all spirits were not dampened. View more pictures here |
2nd Annual President's Cup
The 2nd Annual President’s Cup was a great success - great fun was had by all that attended. Of course since it was a 2009 EWGA GTA weekend event, we did get rained on early in the round and then got called off the course for lightening at the end of the round. But everyone was nearly done and we used 15 holes to calculate the scores.
This years winner, Fran
Green, was shocked and ecstatic that she had
won!! The intent of the event was to make it
accessible to players of all handicaps so it was
exciting to have Fran win. Second place went to
Julie Danabie and third place to Jennifer
Killingbeck. Thanks to all who participated!
